Wishing Wiggins Well

Inspired by Seinfeld:

Get well get well soon, we wish you to get well.
Get well get well soon, we wish you to get well.
Get well get well soon, we wish you to get well.
Get well get well soon, we wish you to get well.
Get well get well soon, we wish you to get well.
Get well get well soon, we wish you to get well.
Get well get well soon, we wish you to get well.
Get well get well soon, we wish you to get well.
Get well get well soon, we wish you to get well.
Get well get well soon, we wish you to get well.
Get well get well soon, we wish you to get well.
Get well get well soon, we wish you to get well.
Get well get well soon, we wish you to get well.

Thanks for the sentiment. I am not a big fan of Seinfeld, but I appreciate the thought.

Things have calmed down over here....

Sorry. I'll get active again at some point...

I'm not big on Seinfeld either, but for whatever reason that song was stuck in my head.

wiggins said...

it's cool.

Man, I suck - I had an UNBELIEVABLY shitty day yesterday. Between visiting my brother in jail (did I mention that my brother is in jail?) and singing an opera (a serious physical and emotional undertaking) - while still recovering from a serious car accident and having THAT day be my first one off of the pain pills...

I just about died again.

Fuck.

And even though I did nothing today, I still feel like shit.

This'll getbetter at some point, right?

Sorry about that - I just needed to vent. Everything will be cool - at some point.

It sounds like it has to get better. This sounds like a pretty low point.

How were you able to sing yesterday?

wiggins said...

Thankfully it wasn't a lead role. Just a small part and a lot of chorus. Luckily - I was so tired, worn, and hurting that I didn't have any energy to worry about the performance! I was the most relaxed I have ever been for a big gig like that... I actually sang pretty well, from what I hear - I don't remember it much.

I really want to believe that it can't get any worse - but every time I think that...

I still have to believe I hve a good life, though. I'm basically happy and have a lot of great things going on. We just have to muddle through the shit, right?

I hope things are going well for you, sir. I look forward to finally finding some things out tomorrow...

Without the rough times, you wouldn't appreciate the good times. At least that's what I like to think. And that by going through the really rough stretches you kind of pay your dues for the better times.

As you can see I'm even worse at writing about life stuff than I am about baseball.

No - I think you hit it on the head. I know that this will pass. And as Arlo Guthrie said "You can't have a light - without a dark to stick it in!"

That was gonna be in that old monstrous post that I deleted cause I write like a retarded third grader with ADD.

Mike said...

That's the stuff you're supposed to post. Without that you can't work out the kinks.

Besides, fewer people read this site than the other site - if that's possible.

Thankfully - I have no designs to be a writer, nor do I consider myself one in the slightest. All of my self-esteem is wrapped up in my singing...

Honestly - what's stuck in my head right now, since I am bitching about my life. ever time I start that all I can think of is "And I LIVE! in a VAN! Down BY THE RIVER!!!"

Maybe I'll get pissy enough later to repost that thing. I just don't want Dex to read it...

Mike said...

Dex would probably have some good insight and/or advice. If nothing else, he would bring us some humor.

(And don't think I'm deluding myself into thinking that I'm a writer either. I know I'm not that. I'm half-not-quite-good at a bunch of things. That is all.)

Eh - maybe it says something about ME - but I have always enjoyed your writing. I was reading the old site for a few years now. And NOT just because it was the only place to find Marlins content.

I am pretty picky about my writers, and I read a LOT. I like your style - and I think you do write well. I also think we are pretty sympathetic in the way we think about a lot of things... which is VERY scary, if you ask me.

But you don't need ME to stroke your ego...

Mike said...

I have no ego - you should see the hate mail. Maybe I should start posting it. It gets ugly.

wiggins said...

Really?!?!?

I'd love to see that! I can't imagine anyone getting worked up over any of this!

Have I mentioned recently that I hate people?

No - I mean it. You joked earlier (I think it was you - or was it daniel?) that I was a misanthrope. Well... damnit - I am. I hate humanity. There are many individuals that I like and even love - but for the most part - we suck.

Stuff like people sending YOU hate mail makes me want to become a hermit so I never have to deal with another jackass again...

Mike said...

It was definitely not me that used misanthrope. If I had tried to use such a word, I would have surely misused it.

The hate mail is unreal. Sometimes it makes me want to quit doing this. But there are a handful of emailers and people like you, Craig, Roger, and Carolina on the site that make me feel like it's worthwhile.

Mike said...

Where were you called a misanthrope?

I can't imagine I said (or even thought) anything bad about you (well, at least not recently). It sounds like you've had some really tough luck lately and I can't imagine blaming you for being somewhat down or negative about it.

wiggins said...

I don't remember where it was...

I just remember someone (maybe Craig - I don't know) saying that I was.

It is really pretty applicable.

Maybe I'll find that cummings poem and post it here...

Daniel said...

Well, considering I don't really even know what a misanthrope is, I don't think I coulda called you one. ;)

craig said...

It wasn't me but I do remember seeing it when it happened.

craig said...

Found it, but it was before the trip to New York.

Misanthropes

wiggins said...

So it WAS Mike!!!

Jerk.

I mean - he's right... but still a jerk.

Mike said...

Like, wow. Fortunately for me I used it fairly generically - as I don't really know what it means.

And to think, Wiggins was a misanthrope BTA. I can't imagine what we'll get now.

Nice find, Craig - even though it does implicate me.

wiggins said...

Like I said - it was an accurate representation. I just had no idea how you could have come to that conclusion so quickly!
